Foreign Studies Director directs and oversees all aspects of the study abroad program. Develops programs, advises students, and monitors the safety and well-being of students while abroad. Being a Foreign Studies Director maintains relationships with partner institutions abroad. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and international partners to create and implement effective study abroad experiences. Additionally, Foreign Studies Director develops and implements marketing strategies to promote study abroad programs and increase student participation. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Foreign Studies Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Foreign Studies Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
