Requirements and Responsibilities
Frontend Development Director sets the strategic vision and establishes standards for frontend architecture, tooling, and user experience across the organization. Aligns frontend strategy with business objectives, product roadmaps, and brand identity. Being a Frontend Development Director ensures products are scalable, high-performing, accessible, and visually consistent. Partners with product, design, engineering, and executive leaders to drive cross-functional initiatives. Additionally, Frontend Development Director assesses emerging technologies and makes high-level investment decisions to keep the frontend ecosystem competitive and sustainable. Has knowledge of commonly used languages and frameworks, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, and Bootstrap. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Frontend Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Frontend Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
