Requirements and Responsibilities
Instructional Technology Director provides leadership, coordination, and support for faculty in the effective use of instructional technologies. Provides training and professional development opportunities for faculty and staff on the use of instructional technologies. Being an Instructional Technology Director develops and maintains standardized procedures. Researches and evaluates new and emerging educational technologies and makes recommendations. Additionally, Instructional Technology Director typically requires a master's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Instructional Technology Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Instructional Technology Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
