Requirements and Responsibilities

Laboratory Support Technician II provides technical support for laboratory operations. Assembles, configures, and maintains equipment for use in tests and experiments. Being a Laboratory Support Technician II operates equipment, mixes chemical solutions, and performs analytical tests as assigned. Records test results and maintains records as instructed. Additionally, Laboratory Support Technician II complies with all safety guidelines. May require an associate degree in a related field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Laboratory Support Technician II works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. To be a Laboratory Support Technician II typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may need 2 years experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
