Requirements and Responsibilities

Lead Capture Specialist analyzes business opportunities and customer needs to identify winning strategies and competitive advantages to secure contracts for an organization. Monitors government and commercial procurement databases to develop pipelines and track opportunity status, deadlines, and key decision points. Being a Lead Capture Specialist researches customer requirements, specifications, and preferences to identify opportunities that align with the organization's capabilities and business objectives. Gathers and analyzes data on competitors, including past contract wins, pricing strategies, partner or supplier relationships, and strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, Lead Capture Specialist provides research and analysis to support the entire capture process from proposal planning to submission. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Lead Capture Specialist works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. To be a Lead Capture Specialist typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
