Requirements and Responsibilities
Lean Manufacturing Director directs an organization's lean manufacturing initiatives. Develops policies and procedures to analyze production workflows, workspace design, and resource utilization to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or waste. Being a Lean Manufacturing Director plans and develops lean manufacturing strategies and goals to improve the operations and processes of a manufacturing organization. Monitors key production metrics to evaluate the impacts of lean principles against costs, production quality, and delivery goals. Additionally, Lean Manufacturing Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Lean Manufacturing Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Lean Manufacturing Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
