Requirements and Responsibilities
Manufacturing Engineer Senior Supervisor oversees the planning and design of manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, and machining processes for a production facility. Liaises with engineering and other manufacturing departments to ensure collaboration and alignment of workflow. Being a Manufacturing Engineer Senior Supervisor is responsible for the research and development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process. Oversees and coordinates equipment selection and tooling design. Additionally, Manufacturing Engineer Senior Supervisor reviews, evaluates, and implements engineering changes and specification requirements. Trains and mentors staff on new and existing manufacturing processes and machinery. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Manufacturing Engineer Senior Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Manufacturing Engineer Senior Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
