Requirements and Responsibilities
Manufacturing System Engineering Supervisor supervises the design, implementation, and maintenance of software systems that manage and monitor production processes for a manufacturing facility. Leads the design of MES software to track production, quality, and performance metrics, ensuring IT configuration with manufacturing operations. Being a Manufacturing System Engineering Supervisor implements processes to troubleshoot, test, and maintain MES systems. Manages updates, backups, and cybersecurity compliance. Additionally, Manufacturing System Engineering Supervisor integrates automation systems into manufacturing processes to promote real-time visibility and control of production operations. Ensures production automation and control systems meet established safety, quality, and reliability standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Manufacturing System Engineering Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Manufacturing System Engineering Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
