Material Forecasting Supervisor supervises material demand forecasting activities to ensure the availability of materials while optimizing inventory investment. Implements processes, policies, and controls to support accurate forecasting and model development. Being a Material Forecasting Supervisor analyzes material demand requirements to support production planning, procurement, and inventory optimization. Monitors inventory levels, lead times, and usage trends to identify shortages or excess risks. Additionally, Material Forecasting Supervisor collaborates with production planning, procurement, and suppliers to align material availability with demand signals. Monitors forecast accuracy and material availability metrics to support continuous improvement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Material Forecasting Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Material Forecasting Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
