Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc. Conducts product testing and creates models and prototypes. Being a Mechanical Engineer I may be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products. Requires a bachelor's degree of mechanical engineering. Additionally, Mechanical Engineer I typically reports to supervisor or manager. The Mechanical Engineer I works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.
