Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc. Conducts product testing and creates models and prototypes. Being a Mechanical Engineer V may be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products. Requires a bachelor's degree of Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, Mechanical Engineer V typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Mechanical Engineer V works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Works autonomously.
