Mechanical Engineering Technician III assists mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery, such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc. Helps prepare proposals and cost estimates. Estimates work load to establish completion dates. Being a Mechanical Engineering Technician III requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechanical Engineering Technician III works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. To be a Mechanical Engineering Technician III typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may need 2 years experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
