Metallurgical Engineering Manager manages a team of metallurgical engineers. Oversees the design and process of manufacturing metals from ores and for the operation of the related production equipment. Determines resources needed and obtains technical support to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, Metallurgical Engineering Manager investigates and resolves metallurgical issues to improve process efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a director. The Metallurgical Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.
