Pharmacologist V studies the effects of drugs, chemicals, and other substances on humans, animals, and/or plants. Collects data, tests compounds for safety and efficacy, and runs experiments. Being a Pharmacologist V may develop in-vivo, in-vitro, and/or ex-vivo models for compound screening and profiling. Responsible for the analysis, interpretation, and reporting of experimental findings. Additionally, Pharmacologist V maintains substantial knowledge of pharmacology best practices and theories. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Pharmacologist V works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. To be a Pharmacologist V typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
