Requirements and Responsibilities
Physician - Infectious Disease specializes in the prevention and treatment of communicable diseases. Ensures proper disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Being a Physician - Infectious Disease recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Additionally, Physician - Infectious Disease requires a MD. Requires State License to Practice. Typically reports to a medical director. Physician - Infectious Disease's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
