Requirements and Responsibilities
Physician - Physiatry specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Focuses on diagnosing, treating, and managing conditions that impair physical function, mobility, and quality of life. Being a Physician - Physiatry examines patients to determine appropriate physiotherapy. Determines type and extent of therapy to treat physical, mental, and occupational needs. Additionally, Physician - Physiatry requires a MD. Requires State License to Practice. Typically reports to a medical director. Physician - Physiatry's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
