Physician - Radiation Therapy uses radiation to treat patients with cancer. Develops an individual treatment plan based on the patient's medical history, physical examination, review of laboratory tests, X-ray studies, and biopsies. Being a Physician - Radiation Therapy may lead a multidisciplinary team, including radiation therapists and medical physicists, to design and oversee treatment plans tailored to each patient's condition. Requires a MD. Additionally, Physician - Radiation Therapy requires State License to Practice. Typically reports to a medical director. Physician - Radiation Therapy's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
