Requirements and Responsibilities

Policy Processing Manager manages the team responsible for modifying, updating, and processing existing policies and claims to reflect any changes in beneficiary, amount of coverage, or type of insurance. Evaluates information from application for completeness, accuracy, and policy requirements. Being a Policy Processing Manager responds to questions from customers, processes payments, issues premium notices, and enters billing/account changes. May cancel policies for late or no payment of premium. Additionally, Policy Processing Manager handles more complex policy transactions. Requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a director. The Policy Processing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Policy Processing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
