Requirements and Responsibilities

Power Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining the mechanical, electrical, and control equipment in a power generation facility. Conducts routine checks, lubricates moving parts, cleans filters, and services machinery to prevent unexpected breakdowns. Being a Power Plant Maintenance Technician diagnoses faults in heavy equipment, such as turbines, boilers, generators, pumps, and valves. Adheres to all safety protocols, procedures, and industry best practices. Additionally, Power Plant Maintenance Technician requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Power Plant Maintenance Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. To be a Power Plant Maintenance Technician typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.
