Requirements and Responsibilities
Power Plant Operations Supervisor II is responsible for the operations of a power generation plant during an assigned shift. Supervises the operators who control, monitor, and maintain the machinery and systems within a power plant. Being a Power Plant Operations Supervisor II monitors instruments to maintain and meet fluctuating consumer demand throughout the day. Checks equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems. Additionally, Power Plant Operations Supervisor II ensures all safety protocols are followed. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Power Plant Operations Supervisor II supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Power Plant Operations Supervisor II typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
