Requirements and Responsibilities

Provider Onboarding Supervisor supervises the team responsible for managing the onboarding and integration of new healthcare providers (doctors, clinicians, facilities) into an insurance network or health system. Acts as the primary liaison, coordinating credentialing, contracting, and compliance to ensure providers can legally and efficiently begin treating patients and billing for services. Being a Provider Onboarding Supervisor collects and verifies licenses, certifications, and other required information to ensure compliance with state regulations and payer requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Provider Onboarding Supervisor typically reports to a manager. The Provider Onboarding Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Provider Onboarding Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
