Requirements and Responsibilities

Provost develops academic policies and programs for a college or university. Directs and coordinates activities of deans and chairpersons of individual colleges. Being a Provost advises on personnel matters. Determines scheduling of courses and recommends implementation of additional courses. Additionally, Provost may require an advanced degree and at least 10 years of experience in the field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
