Requirements and Responsibilities
Refinery Operations Supervisor supervises operations of equipment systems that process natural gas or petroleum into specified products. Oversees plant operators, ensuring proper monitoring of gauges, meters, and control panels. Being a Refinery Operations Supervisor directs adjustments to temperature, pressure, and flow to maintain optimal performance. Coordinates routine inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. Additionally, Refinery Operations Supervisor ensures accurate documentation and enforces compliance with safety and environmental regulations. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Refinery Operations Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Refinery Operations Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
