Sanitation Department Manager manages the operations of a municipal or organizational sanitation department to ensure the reliable and efficient collection and disposal of waste. Directs waste collection, street cleaning, and disposal operations across assigned routes and service areas. Being a Sanitation Department Manager develops and manages department budgets, staffing plans, and equipment resources. Ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations governing waste handling. Additionally, Sanitation Department Manager oversees supervisors and coordinates scheduling, training, and performance management of department personnel. Establishes operational policies and procedures to improve service quality and efficiency. Responds to community concerns and coordinates service with other departments and agencies.
