Requirements and Responsibilities

Software Systems Engineering Director oversees the design, development, and long-term strategy of an organization's systems infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and efficiency. Provides leadership in the architecture and integration of operating systems, drivers, and utility tools to align with business objectives. Being a Software Systems Engineering Director establishes standards, policies, and best practices for systems management, documentation, and deployment. Directs teams responsible for end-user support and partners with stakeholders to deliver reliable and innovative technology solutions. Additionally, Software Systems Engineering Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Software Systems Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Software Systems Engineering Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.
