Requirements and Responsibilities

Sterilization Engineering Manager manages and oversees sterilization activities and resources to ensure manufactured products meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Develops and implements sterilization engineering standards, procedures, and long-term process strategies. Being a Sterilization Engineering Manager leads sterilization validation programs and ensures alignment with FDA, ISO, and other regulatory and industry guidelines. Partners with quality, operations, and senior leadership to support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, Sterilization Engineering Manager evaluates new sterilization technologies and drives the optimization of existing processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Sterilization Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Sterilization Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
