Requirements and Responsibilities

Subrogation Specialist III pursues recovery of paid claims from responsible third parties and their insurers to reduce overall loss costs. Reviews claim files to identify subrogation potential and establish liability and recovery opportunities. Being a Subrogation Specialist III investigates facts, gathers documentation, and determines recoverable damages. Prepares and submits demands and negotiates settlements with third parties and outside insurers. Additionally, Subrogation Specialist III accurately documents recovery activities, negotiations, and outcomes within the claims system. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company guidelines. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Subrogation Specialist III work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. To be a Subrogation Specialist III typically requires 4-7 years of related experience.
