Requirements and Responsibilities

Supply Chain Planning Director directs an organization's efforts for efficient supply chain operations. Develops policies, procedures and strategic plans to improve productivity, effectiveness and quality. Being a Supply Chain Planning Director monitors the implementation of new systems, processes, and programs to strengthen the business. May also oversee the analysis and prediction of inventory/capacity needs and adjustment of supply based on forecasted demand. Additionally, Supply Chain Planning Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Supply Chain Planning Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Supply Chain Planning Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
