Being a Surgical Technologist - Certified observes the patient's vital signs, checks charts, and provides instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies as needed. Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens and delivery to laboratory according to procedures. Additionally, Surgical Technologist - Certified may assist in patient transport. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification and CPR certification. Typically reports to a supervisor.
