Requirements and Responsibilities
System Documentation Director directs the production of functional, configuration, and user interface documentation for computer software and hardware products. Collaborates with senior management to understand organizational initiatives and develop high-level documentation plans, strategies, and schedules. Being a System Documentation Director liaises with technical stakeholders to ensure accurate interpretation of technical data, drawings, and specifications. Develops policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the security and availability of critical documentation. Additionally, System Documentation Director establishes standardized documentation methods and tools to efficiently produce high-quality content. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The System Documentation Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a System Documentation Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
