Requirements and Responsibilities

System Documentation Supervisor coordinates the production of functional, configuration, and user interface documentation for computer software and hardware products. Collaborates with technical teams to prepare accurate, clear, and concise content for manuals, release notes, and other technical documentation. Being a System Documentation Supervisor reviews, edits, and approves the final content. Implements standardized methods and control procedures to manage and organize technical documentation. Additionally, System Documentation Supervisor monitors project deliverables and timelines to ensure on-time delivery of release notes, manuals, and online content. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The System Documentation Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a System Documentation Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
