Requirements and Responsibilities

VP of Data Management directs the design and development of data strategies and processes to support the organization's current and future data asset requirements and meet business goals and objectives. Defines and implements the architecture, systems, and roadmap to obtain, store, integrate and manage data. Being a VP of Data Management utilizes data warehouses, stores, and other business intelligence systems to manage and distribute data efficiently. Establishes data governance standards and policies to develop data management guidelines that will ensure data accuracy, reliability, and security. Additionally, VP of Data Management adheres to data privacy regulations to ensure sensitive data is protected. Studies and evaluates emerging technologies to enhance data capabilities and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The VP of Data Management manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a VP of Data Management typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function.
