Requirements and Responsibilities
Water Resources Maintenance Supervisor oversees technical maintenance operations for water distribution systems, including dams, reservoirs, pump stations, pipelines, hydroelectric power plants, and pressure-regulating stations. Supervises maintenance crews performing work on water distribution infrastructure and facilities. Being a Water Resources Maintenance Supervisor oversees the operation and upkeep of dams, reservoirs, pump stations, pipelines, and pressure-regulating stations. Schedules and prioritizes preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Additionally, Water Resources Maintenance Supervisor ensures maintenance work complies with safety, operational, and regulatory standards. Inspects facilities and equipment to identify repair and improvement needs. Trains staff and maintains records of maintenance activities and equipment status. Requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Water Resources Maintenance Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Water Resources Maintenance Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
