HR leaders are being asked to answer bigger questions with more at stake. Can we hire this candidate at a number that works? Who is likely to leave, and would a pay adjustment keep them? Where do we need new skills next year, and what will they cost? They're talent questions, and every one of them depends on pay.
For 27 years, our view at Salary.com has been that compensation is where good talent decisions start, and that belief has shaped everything we've built, including SalaryTalent.
Salary.com started with a goal to help organizations pay people fairly and competitively, using data they can trust. Today, our database holds more than 10 billion data points across 140+ countries, and more than 30,000 organizations contribute to our compensation surveys. 10,000+ organizations rely on our compensation data and software.
Along the way, we built more than compensation data. Products like SalaryIQ drew on datasets that delivered real value to teams beyond compensation: skills data, market intelligence from public sources, and nearly 300 million candidate and employee profiles. For years, each of those datasets did useful work on its own.
Connecting them has been part of our long-term vision for years, and our Total Talent Ontology™ now makes it possible. It covers more than 1.4 million leveled job titles and maps jobs, skills, pay, real-time market data, and people to one another, so each dataset adds context to the others. A job title links to the skills it requires, those skills link to what the market pays for them, and that pay data links to the people who have them. SalaryTalent is built on that connected data.
Our customers kept telling us that pay decisions and talent decisions don't happen in separate rooms. A recruiter building an offer, a manager weighing a promotion, and a planner forecasting next year's headcount are all making compensation decisions, whether or not a comp analyst is in the loop.
That feedback came with specific requests. Customers wanted more people across their organizations to access our data, with the right guardrails in place. They wanted offer guidance and job description management that compensation teams control. Enterprise customers asked us to set up analytics dashboards their HR business partners and line managers could view. And with Elevate, they wanted to communicate total compensation to employees and show them clear career paths. Each of those requests moved compensation data further into the business, so SalaryTalent was a natural next step.
SalaryTalent brings the compensation intelligence we've built directly into the workflows where those decisions happen, which is why we think of it as compensation-first talent management. Market pricing, pay ranges, and skills data show up in recruiting, offers, performance, retention, and workforce planning, so recruiters and managers see it where they already work.
SalaryTalent exists because of our compensation expertise, and it's built by the same team, using the same data and methodology our compensation customers already rely on.
Our roadmap moves on two tracks at once: advancing our compensation management capabilities and extending that same data into talent workflows. Both run on the same platform and data, and many of the same people work on both.
Of the 168 engineers building our products, 142 work on our compensation products.
This year, we enhanced CompAnalyst, our total compensation management software and data products line, with the Max Model Engine, bringing real-time market data and autonomous AI agents into the product experience. For compensation teams, that means less time spent on manual analysis and faster, better-informed pay decisions. The agents take on the analysis and repetitive work, while compensation professionals keep control of the pay decisions that matter.
Next up is our next-generation Compensation Management module, built around workflows that connect compensation teams with the line managers, employees, and other stakeholders who act on pay decisions. Our compensation products already have data integrations with SalaryTalent, and we're working to advance those integrations further.
Because everything shares one platform and one ontology, investment in one product strengthens the other. Decisions compensation teams make in CompAnalyst already appear throughout SalaryTalent, in the job and employee intelligence views managers use every day. Offer and requisition workflows will also draw directly on compensation insights such as market data and peer compression analysis.
If your team relies on Salary.com for compensation today, the roadmap, support, and expertise you count on continue. Our compensation products already share data with SalaryTalent, so the pricing, structures, and analysis your team maintains can reach the recruiters and managers who act on them, under the guidance of your compensation and HR teams to ensure human-in-the-loop oversight.
That's added value from data you already have, since your compensation team's work now informs more decisions across the organization. Your compensation team also keeps control, because any workflow that involves compensation data is gated by their review and approval.
Getting pay right has always been our focus. SalaryTalent carries that focus into the rest of the talent lifecycle, and our compensation roadmap keeps advancing alongside it. Both serve the same purpose for our customers: helping them make better pay decisions, work more efficiently, and manage compensation with confidence, with their compensation teams in control. We want every talent decision to be a well-informed pay decision.
