Requirements and Responsibilities

Art Manager plans, directs, and coordinates all activities in the art department. Executes marketing department objectives, specifications, and concepts to design advertising, media, print, and mail campaign materials. Being an Art Manager monitors projects and prepares reports that track and analyze productivity, trends, and other factors that impact costs. Manages the staff and evaluates and selects any additional freelance staff. Additionally, Art Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior manager. The Art Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be an Art Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
