Requirements and Responsibilities

Business Development Manager creates business strategies to facilitate company growth. Identifies and helps to develop strategic relationships with partners or potential customers. Being a Business Development Manager works with other departments to ensure alignment of company goals, as set by senior management. Evaluates appropriate information to forecast the return on future business transactions. Additionally, Business Development Manager designs and determines terms of business agreements. Requires a bachelor's degree in business. Typically reports to a manager. The Business Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
