Requirements and Responsibilities

Computer Operator I assists in operating and monitoring computer equipment. Performs routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and their peripherals by established procedures. Being a Computer Operator I observes peripheral equipment and error messages displayed on monitor of terminal to detect faulty output or machine stoppage. May require an associate's degree or equivalent. Additionally, Computer Operator I typically reports to a project leader or manager. The Computer Operator I works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
