Requirements and Responsibilities

Database Engineer V develops or modifies procedures to solve complex database design problems, including performance, scalability, security and integration issues. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents complex databases at the highest levels of complexity. Being a Database Engineer V has full technical knowledge of all phases of database engineering. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Database Engineer V typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Database Engineer V works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in solution or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. To be a Database Engineer V typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
