Requirements and Responsibilities

Demand Planning Manager manages an organization's demand planning and forecasting activities to support production operations, supply chain execution, and business objectives. Oversees forecasting methodologies, tools, and assumptions to improve forecast accuracy, reduce variability, and ensure responsiveness to changing business or market conditions. Being a Demand Planning Manager evaluates forecast performance to identify bias, bad assumptions, or missing information and recommends corrective actions. Collaborates with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to incorporate promotional activity, seasonality, and market intelligence forecasts into operational planning. Additionally, Demand Planning Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Demand Planning Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Demand Planning Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
