Requirements and Responsibilities

Facilities Engineer I plans, designs, and maintains facility infrastructure and equipment to meet the needs of an organization. Utilizes CAD software and engineering principles to design and communicate specifications for facility modifications, new development, or equipment. Being a Facilities Engineer I analyzes specifications and requirements to establish facility plans and estimate design costs. Researches and sources the equipment and materials required for the facility, verifying specification requirements and adherence to budget allotment. Additionally, Facilities Engineer I maintains expert knowledge of building codes, environmental standards, and safety regulations to ensure compliance throughout all design activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Facilities Engineer I work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Facilities Engineer I typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.
