Requirements and Responsibilities
Facilities Engineering Senior Supervisor plans, designs, and maintains facility infrastructure and equipment to meet the needs of an organization. Implements processes and policies to ensure facility designs are safe, efficient, and compliant with regulatory standards. Being a Facilities Engineering Senior Supervisor utilizes CAD software and engineering principles to design and communicate specifications for facility modifications, new development, or equipment. Analyzes specifications and requirements to establish facility plans and estimate design costs. Additionally, Facilities Engineering Senior Supervisor researches and sources the equipment and materials required for the facility, verifying specification requirements and adherence to budget allotment. Maintains expert knowledge of building codes, environmental standards, and safety regulations to ensure compliance throughout all design activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Facilities Engineering Senior Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Facilities Engineering Senior Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
