Requirements and Responsibilities
Import/Export Senior Supervisor supervises the import/export process. Monitors the administration of documentation processes required to import and export merchandise and materials. Being an Import/Export Senior Supervisor reviews all required documentation and calculations of duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of products. Verifies all payment transactions are completed according to requirements. Additionally, Import/Export Senior Supervisor resolves issues and expedites solutions with clients, customs officials, and shippers. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, or country-specific regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Import/Export Senior Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Import/Export Senior Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
