Requirements and Responsibilities

Import/Export Supervisor supervises the import/export process. Monitors the administration of documentation processes required to import and export merchandise and materials. Being an Import/Export Supervisor reviews all required documentation and calculations of duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of products. Verifies all payment transactions are completed according to requirements. Additionally, Import/Export Supervisor resolves issues and expedites solutions with clients, customs officials, and shippers. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, or country-specific regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Import/Export Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Import/Export Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.
