Requirements and Responsibilities

Lean Manufacturing Supervisor supervises the daily activities and performance of an organization's lean manufacturing initiatives. Analyzes production workflows, workspace design, and resource utilization to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or waste. Being a Lean Manufacturing Supervisor implements lean initiatives and strategies to streamline and improve productivity. Monitors the progress of lean initiatives against plan objectives and evaluates the impacts of lean principles against costs, production quality, and delivery goals. Additionally, Lean Manufacturing Supervisor educates employees about lean concepts to ensure initiatives are integrated into workflows and processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Lean Manufacturing Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Lean Manufacturing Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
