Light Assembler III assembles fabricated parts to relatively small or light subassemblies and complete units. Tests, calibrates, and fits parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Light Assembler III identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary. Uses hand tools and small power tools. Additionally, Light Assembler III requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require completion of an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. The Light Assembler III has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. To be a Light Assembler III typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.
