Requirements and Responsibilities
Provider Relations Director directs and oversees the team responsible for developing and maintaining service relationships with physicians, providers, and administrators of a provider network. Analyzes feedback from network stakeholders to survey satisfaction and facilitate communication. Being a Provider Relations Director monitors the response to inquiries about referrals, eligibility, credentialing, and other policy matters. Remains knowledgeable on industry trends and recruits healthcare providers to strengthen and grow the network. Additionally, Provider Relations Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Provider Relations Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Provider Relations Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
