Requirements and Responsibilities

Software Systems Engineering Supervisor supervises and implements work related to the design, development, and maintenance of an organization's systems infrastructure. Writes and reviews code to ensures the functionality and reliability of operating systems, drivers, and utility tools. Being a Software Systems Engineering Supervisor coordinates the creation and update of technical documentation and provides end-user support. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Software Systems Engineering Supervisor typically reports to a manager. The Software Systems Engineering Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Software Systems Engineering Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
