Technical Sales Supervisor supervises a team that sells technical services, products, and systems. Coaches sales representatives to meet or exceed selling targets. Being a Technical Sales Supervisor develops relationships with current customers and identifies potential new customers. Coaches team in the creation and delivery of compelling technical presentations that present current and future products to potential customers. Additionally, Technical Sales Supervisor utilizes technical acumen to understand and gather customer requirements and to prepare specifications and generate quotes. Participates in contract negotiations. Partners with internal technical and marketing teams to utilize customer insights and market intelligence to contribute to the product roadmap. Tracks and reports on the team's sales targets and goals. Assists with managing the accounts of key customers. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related technical or scientific discipline. Typically reports to a manager. The Technical Sales Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Technical Sales Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
