Telecommunications Technician III installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains telecommunications equipment. Provides reports, completes requests for new service, and determines methodology for installing telephone service. Being a Telecommunications Technician III determines appropriateness of moderate equipment changes or modifications including call switches, test trunks and test links, and installs communication circuits. May require an associate degree or its equivalent. Additionally, Telecommunications Technician III typically reports to a project leader or manager. To be a Telecommunications Technician III typically requires 3-5 years of related experience. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
