The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator conducts audits to ensure that documentation of procedures for emergency response is up to date and required signage and equipment are operational and in place. Develops and supports the planning, preparation, and staff training for response to emergencies. Being an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator assists with response to actual incidents. Organizes exercises or drills to train staff and review the effectiveness of plans. In addition, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. Being an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Working as an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may need 2 years experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
